Art Feeds the Need

One of our custom homes, 112 Eaglescliffe, in the exclusive Eaglescliffe neighborhood of Ford's Colony will host a very special event this Saturday, December 3, 2011 from 4 - 8 PM. Local fine artists will display their works at the "Art Feeds the Need" event benefiting the Grove Christian Outreach Center. Enjoy holiday shopping in a luxury custom home, wine and cheese sampling along with great company.

As a third-generation woodworker, my interest in building began while I was a young child.

Some of my earliest memories are of my father's woodshop learning how to do dovetail joinery. For fun I built forts in my neighborhood. They had skylights, were waterproof, and had screened windows. I built some of the best forts in the neighborhood.

After college, I went to work for a framing contractor for seven years and knew I was on the right path.

In 1990, I started J. H. Fisher Construction with $1,000 and a whole lot of ambition and passion. I didn't have a five-year business plan, but after four years of doing anything from rot repair to custom cabinets and remodeling, natural progression led me into home building.

In 1994 I convinced a local bank to let me build a spec house in Ford's Colony. That's when I realized that home building was for me. It allowed me to instill my creativity, my woodworking skills, and attention to details into something that I truly enjoy doing.
